[Boatanchors] soldering iron safety

I have a Hakko with auto sleep and auto power off function. The “sleep” can sometimes be irritating while working if there’s too much time between solder joints, but at least I never have to worry about whether (for the nth time) I've left the iron on heating the room for sometimes a couple of days.
I always ended up treating my soldering iron like (or so my wife says) the lights. Never remember to turn them off :-)
