[Boatanchors] soldering iron safety

Hi Rob,
Most of us probably have had this problem, I know I have.
My solution has been to put the soldering and desoldering eqpt on a
"power strip" which also controls the movable lamp over my workbench.
Then, at least if I turn the light off the heat will be off. As an
additional safety, I have a small red (pilot" lamp plugged into the
strip, just in case I were to switch the light off by its own switch.
Then, if I look back into the shop after I turn off the overhead lights,
I'll see the red glow (maybe).
It doesn't help at all if I just leave the shop without turning off the
lights.
YMMV, 73,
