Or those who zero beat the AM carrier and run a lot of power, the same
bunch does that from time to time. I hear SSB stations regularly drop
in between two AM QSOs that are on 3.880 and 3.885. Then there is the
"traffic" net that is on 3.878 or so that is near me. This "net" is
associated with the 40 meter "net" that gave Bill W8VYZ so much trouble.
**** We've had this conversation in the past. Intentional interference
is against the rules. Record them, detail date and time and calls and
send it off to the FCC. If it impacts you and others a number of times
you all should report the problem to the FCC each time. If enough people
complain to the FCC with recorded details, it will get their attention.
> They always appear when the AM QSO has been going on for a while so,
it appears, that they need to learn respect. Why should AM stations,
who have been operating for a time before the SSB stations appear, move
to accommodate them?
**** At times it could be just changing band conditions. Sometimes it
just doesn't pay to try and understand the stupidity and ignorance of
some operators that may be doing it intentionally. But, on the same
token, it doesn't make sense just to sit by and piss and moan about it.
Do the recordings and send them in. If it's intentional interference,
moving to another frequency will in time make their desire dwindle, but
then again, stupidity doesn't generally dwindle with time either. Getting
out of the imaginary AM Window and flexing your wings on other part of
the band is really what everyone needs to do. As long as the imaginary AM
Windows exists in the minds of AM operators and their daily AM operating,
it is like painting a target on your back.

organization to help enforce the rules. It sure seems the FCC doesn't
care.
**** You probably would have better luck winning a lottery. But it you
establish such an organization, you can call it the "Amateur Radio
Militia" or ARM for short.
