The only amateurs who still cling to the imaginary AM Window are some
AM'ers. Many of us who operate AM have moved on to other parts of 75
meters where we generally enjoy painless AM QSO's without the restriction
of a caged section of the band. The only thing that's recognized in
various band plans is 3885 KHz as an AM calling frequency.

Actually, "the Window" was conceived by several high school amateur radio
teenagers back in the late 60's or early 70's as a secret teenage hallway
"speak" prank (i.e. "I'll meet you in the Window later"). So, here we are
almost 50 years later, still trying to perpetuate a teenage prank.
Amateur radio can be funny at times.
