Bob,

You have to pull the feathers out of that critter before you cook it.  No 
amount of dental floss will get burnt feathers out of your teeth.  Once 
those feathers are cooked they are all brown and any Teal color will be 
gone.

There's probably a different Teal color for boys because they dress 
differently.
Maybe there are no boy Ducks in your neighborhood.

Guess you folks got me!

I thought when I put the antenna up and in place that "I" was the
tuner!  That being the simple fact that while one uses the book and
formula as the guide, the one thing that we all do is make it a tad
longer than the book says, then go out and use what ever means to get it
"tuned" to the specific part of the band we want.

After that it ends up presenting some vector value of the actual
impedance back inside the Shack.

I didn't own a "matchbox" or the current name for it, the entire time I
had a Hollow State Final to tune for the lowest VSWR.  It didn't really
matter a great deal since i was always able to get down to 1.3 : 1 or
there about.

I only went kicking and screaming into owning this impedance
transforming device, "Matchbox" as most are labeled, when I had to go
with a Solid State transceiver.

The only reason for the matchbox then is simply to keep the highest
output to the antenna system.

The SS Transceivers have the "fold-back" designs that reduce the output
when you get too far away from the ideal impedance match.

Beats me!  I just go with what gets it done.

As a granddaughter began going outside and was still learning to speak
in an intelligent manner, she observed a wild rabbit in the yard.  She
saw what it was doing and named it a "hopper grass" as it was indeed
hopping through the grass as it moved.

I'll end this with Teal is a duck!  It is NOT a color!  Seems every time
I turn around some bunch of folk go and change a name that worked fine
for decades.

If you find that Teal Duck, see if it has that color to it.  I haven't
seen that breed of duck in any other color than shades of brown and tan.
