[Boatanchors] Question on Regen operation

Hello Keith,

While I don't have first-hand knowledge of the GR-81, you description of 
performance sounds reasonable. This is a really simple receiver, and 
they are asking it to work across a considerable frequency range.

There are receivers that use pentodes and have tuned RF stages that work 
a whole lot better, even rivaling simple superhets. Take a listen to a 
National SW-3 or Navy RAL if you ever have the chance.
