There are many things that you need to consider for such a project. I have been
working on one since September of last year that morphed into a much more
complicated project than I had planned. I was going to use an old aluminum tower
but soon realized it was not strong enough. I kind of had a hunch from the
beginning it was going to get complicated. As it turned out we use the same size
base that you are describing- 2 1/2 yards of concrete, 3000 PSI with a very
substantial rebar frame built inside of it.
