The 30L-1 does have a fan.  However, the linear should not be run at more than 150-watts carrier output.  As such, unless the exciter is something like a DX-40 or DX-60, not worth the added electricity cost! Glen, K9STH

that one has four 811As right?  You'd probably have to run them ataround 100 w. carrier output especially if the 811As are convectioncooled.  I'd get a DX100 or Viking 1 instead.  The S-Line was notdesigned for AM.Not trying to be a smart ass, but the 30L1 in my opinion does not getyou very far as an AM RF amplifier.
