[Boatanchors] Searching for HC500F Solitron rectifier cartridges or equiv

I benched a radio today and found that in the power supply, a bank of what was supposed to be 4 silicon rectifiers was missing one.  The manual calls out a Solitron Devices part number HC500F.  The Solitron site no longer can identify this so I emailed the company.
Meanwhile, has anyone else run into this and hopefully found a substitute ?  The rectifier is about 1/4" diameter and about 3/4" long.
