I have indeed placed an order for an AM/FM Radio Kit.

This one is all on one circuit board, BUT, it is in halves.

The top half is the solid state FM section.  The bottom half is the 
solid state AM section.

Down at the lower right is the Audio Amplifier section with an IC, and 
speaker.

Additionally, it also provides an earphone.

There is a switch that switches either AM or FM.

Every single component *is* soldered to the board.

I downloaded the Instruction/Construction Manual.  It is very detailed, 
step by step.

They list the components, use and teach the color code, and how to 
determine the E B C of each transistor used.

I really believe that this is indeed the way to fly.  She and I will 
easily spend at least one solid day assembling this.  Perhaps a little more.
