If you have things set to sort that way.

Years ago I tested E-mail several ways, with several friends
over the telephone. Between ISPs located distances apart such
as W.C. Florida, Atlanta and NYC the results "when things work
right" was up to two seconds of lag going any way.
A peculiar phenomenon was also noted every evening at about 11:30
(the exact time was very variable) mail one way (usually) stopped
for several hours, but sometimes a second E-mail would "dislodge"
the delayed one, sometimes not arriving for many hours, after that
the delays diapered.
MY ISP (BH cable) cuts me completely off around midnight or just
before for about 10 to 15 minutes some days. (vary annoying)
