That said, I have found that using double-shielded cable (center conductor,
insulation, shield, insulation, shield, maybe insulation), with one shield
grounded at each end, can drop noise in really bad enviroments. Think bad
dimmers, arc welder, plasma cutter in a theatre shop, where it all was getting
into the theatre sound system. This was a while back.
