Print on the label, peel off the back and wrap around the wire/cable. This of course requires cutting to size. I haven't done it but I have no doubt one could use the peel off mailing label, or some such stock, of label paper. I have used Microsoft Word to generate mailing labels, and I am sure the same could be done here, but without having to cut pieces to size.
I got three copies of this one only. Every label that I ever tried
(many) designed for paper have dried out and the adhesive deteriorated
and the labels fell off the wire after a few year unless they were
over-wrapped with a clear tape.
At work I successfully used "Brady wire marker machine" labels in a
"dot matrix" printer to label cabling at work before I retired, they
were half coated with white and half clear that wrapped over the printed
area preventing smudging. I wrote a program in BASIC where I entered
the two lines and when the second CR was found it advanced to the
beginning of the next printable area. Worked great for years.
