[Boatanchors] HP-8708A Synchronizer?

Hi David,
The power supplies in my 606B appear to be OK, but I will probably replace
the
electrolytics if I can get everything else set up.
At the moment I am somewhat mystified by steps 5.42 and 5.44 in the manual.
The carrier zero step works as expected (step 5.42), but then in 5.44 I get
no
output unless I change the modulation amplitude control (which is wrong).
I'm sure
I'll figure it out eventually.
