Thank you Jim and others. I need all the 'stars' I can get at this point....
Here's one I'm (almost) ashamed to admit.
I have several Drake transceivers, including my beloved TR-6/RV-6. I've been in them many times for initial clean-up, tube checking etc.
However, I never knew until yesterday, that you can access the 6JB6s without removing the whole RF Cage!
HUH?
I always removed the whole thing, always wondering what that 'disk' was on the top of the shield. Yep, it's a 'handle' to remove just the top cover. I'll be.......
I have almost memorized the TR-4Cw, TR-6 Manuals, but I never read that sentence. Just goes to show you are never too old to learn.

The capacitance per ft. is the right answer Ron, not the loss. You get a
gold star on your report card. Use it rather than the others you have
because the total capacitance will detune the input of the circuit causing
low drive..

I finally found a 'rough' but complete T-4XB transmitter to go with my
beloved R-4Bs.
I have a lot of Drakes and the CDs, etc.
Just wondering about the cables to connect the xmitter and rec. I know that
RG-62 is 'recommended', and I actually may have some, In fact, I'm sure I
do.
However, just wondering why that 93 ohm cable was picked. Was it a matter of
capacitance/foot, loss, resonance, what?
That was a LONG time ago, and I have lots of the new low-loss RG-6, RG-59,
RG-58. For such a small length, I'm wondering how much difference it makes
on HF....
Just an old timer trying to learn.........
