[Boatanchors] KRM Variable Transformer

I have a KRM model ACCE-590VR variable transformer.  The transformer is 
rated at 110V in; 0-130v out; 0.5 KVA.  It came with a GMA 5A fuse.  It 
will work for awhile and then blow the fuse.  I've been all over it 
hunting for possible shorts, resoldered some internal connections, 
carefully cleaned and checked insulation of the wiper. I can't find any 
information, manual, etc., about it so I don't know if the 5A fuse is 
the correct size.  Given the rating of the transformer, it sounds about 
right.

Does anyone know anything about this model or have some suggestions?
