Tnx, Pete, for the info on HGR.
It appeared that their scopes were un-tested, etc.
I prefer one that is ready to go....working, etc. I had
rather spend my time working on my TX/RX instead of
test equip. That's one reason I hve been looking at a few
sellers on Ebay...their scopes are ready to use, but
of course the prices are a bit higher. As far as the cover
is concerned...mainly wanted one for shipping but it
would also come in handy for storage here. I saw one for
around 50 bux on Ebay...a bit pricey for me.
Tnx...73 de Bill K4JYS

I've delt with HGR before. No complaints and good packaging, many times FIP.
This is only a 465 and I'd hold out for a 465B. Saying that. Looking at the condition in the pictures I'd offer $50. They have only turned down one offer I've made out of around 5.
BTW if you do get a 465 and it doesn't have its snap on cover I might be able to find one. Other then wanting one if you carry the scope around a lot, the are a PITA
to take off and put back on.

Hi Bill and Others,
Check out HGR in Cleveland, OH at the following URL:
http://www.hgrinc.com/buyOurs/inventoryItemDetail.do?inventory_num=07140580007&itemName=TEKTRONIX+465+OSCILLOSCOPE
This on is listed for $130 but there are others that are listed for the same price. I've dealt with:
* David Cehlar
* Sales Rep.
* 216-339-2799
and had good luck getting items for less when I gave him a bid. I don't know what their shipping arrangements are so you'll have to ask as I was at their facility when I bought several items. (If anybody is in the Cleveland area, have a fun day and tour their facility, which is an old Fisher Body upholstery shop.) I don't have any connections with HGR except for being a satisfied customer.

GA all,
I have made it for 55+ years w/o a scope on the bench. I don't do anything
with SS circuits...just tube. However, recently I have run across a couple of
problems with BA xmtrs that I think a scope might help in troubleshooting. Also,
I could probably use one in rcvr work. Anyway, I am looking for any
recommendations you guys might have for a not-too-large scope for some
bench work. Info on brands, specs, probes, reliability, etc would be
greatly appreciated. Ebay is full of 'em so that adds to my confusion plus there
are a lot of new 'brands' I'm not familiar with...and the prices are all over the place.
Many thanks for any suggestions.
