Good Afternoon Don,


        What I have done in the passed for the same reason was to make a
drop out relay box. It's very simple. You use a relay with a 120 or 220
VAC coil ( depending on the item your powering ), I used DPDT relay.  You
wire up the input and output of the relay like you normally would, but
you wire the coil from the input to the output, with a momentary push (
N/O )switch from the cold side of the relay to the hot side of the input.
When you push the switch the relay pulls in and AC power is given to the
coil. If the power was to drop out the relay would open and not reengage
till the switch was pushed again. This type of protection is a bit much
for some, but I would rather have to warm up a radio, them have to fix
it.
