[Boatanchors] Weller Iron Frustrations

In an emergency I've just twisted the end of the tip
together. It works well enough to finish a job. Tip wear
seems to vary with the solder.
Radio Shack has small tubes of anti-seize for screw-in
small iron tips. I've never tried it on Weller nuts but it
might work if you have problems with them galling.
You can also clean the contact area of both tip and
clamp with a little file or crocus cloth. I think once you
get a good contact it has less chance of oxidizing.
