[Boatanchors] Question on 24 volt

Ran into the same problem when I decided to get interested in this 
stuff.  I finally settled on a PP-1104C/G - 50 amps at 28v or 100 amps 
at 14v.  Saw one on the milsurplus list a couple of years ago for $50 in 
Mobile AL, but they weigh 152 pounds, so when they come up it's usually 
local pickup only.  It's a linear supply, so it withstands dynamotor 
starting loads quite easily.  Pretty quiet, no messy batteries to worry 
about.
