Apparently, you chose to ignore te word 'solenoid'.
As I said, tubes, transistors, and valves are energy modulators.
If you want to make an amplifier, you need a source and a controllable
energy modulator.
Some energy modulators are binary, in that they have on and off states
only. Others can be proportional... tubes or gate valves for example.
In an ideal FET, there is zero gate power in steady state DC operation,
hence zero power. Just like a gate valve. Your argument failos.
