Another clue I have seen is when you find one or more split from end to end
or cracked.
That is what led me to looking and testing according the the manual with my
TO-6. If it meets the resistance check, then fine, if not it is replaced
and I check them all. Most BB caps I have run through all show very low
resistance so I replace them.
The trouble with them seems to be centered around heat, they don't seem to
be able to take much if the air flow in the equipment is not adequate. Use
them at your own risk.
