[Boatanchors] Eico 950B question

     I discovered I have an Eico 950B capacitor and resistor 
tester.  I found when measuring a medium value resistor that 
it got warm to the touch and discovered the voltage across 
the measurement terminals was about 55 volts.  From the 
schematic I think this may be normal but does anyone know 
for certain?   This is too much and would cause some 
resistors to exceed their dissipation ratings.  I have both 
the operating and construction manuals from BAMA.
