[Boatanchors] question about chokes

A swinging cholke helps with voltage regulation.
At low DC current, the choke has high inductance, hence a big AC voltage
drop. As the DC current component increases, the choke saturates, hence
the inductance goes down, so the drop is less.
If you short out the choke, this will happen:
The output voltage will go up and have more ripple under load.
The voltage regulation performance will get worse.
