I have a BC-221 that I've had for years. The
calibration is right on the nose. Its only problem is that
the crystal calibrator drifts a little. Its difficult to
get adjusted because the meter is in a wooden case which
acts as an oven and must be removed to get access to the
trimmer. I have considered drilling a small hole in the
back to get to it but never have. The amount of drift is
still very small compared to the specs. Its really still a
useful instrument. Mine also still has the original
headphones in the lower compartment. It also has an AC
power supply.
Note that there are several versions of both the LM and
BC-221 with small variations in the circuits.
