[Boatanchors] Wall Warts and Switcher Power Supplies

I guess that I'm an old genetic throwback. I got tired of those darn
computer supplies that "Psuedo" turn off.
I use either a power strip to kill yhe power, OR I flip the switch on
the back of the system.
Regarding the use of UPS devices, they indeed stay on and float the
internal batteries.
Those are about the only thing that I leave on. I have never had an UPS
go bad. Then again I have always bought a darn good one! It is a case
of you only get what you pay for!
Some folks go off and buy Brand XYZ and then have issues.
I'd have to breakout the papers/software, but I can honestly say that
the UPS on my desktop was bought over 7 years ago. The only thing that
I have done is replace the battery ONCE.
YMMV.
I've changed computers more frequently! Then again, I don't think that
there is much support for an Osborne or Kaypro.
