The receiver has no bandspread and the selectivity is as broad as a barn 
door. I was limited to CW on 40M only and it was a real chore to make a 
complete QSO in the QRM.
The TX keying relay was also a loud PITA.

For rather local AM it would likely be passable with an improved audio 
circuit in the TX but there is no RX ANL altho a kit was available for 
retrofit.

For about the same space a S-40B and DX-40 is so much better (-;
