[Boatanchors] LINE BUCKERS

I have been using old TV power transformers and the like...in some cases the HV winding is blown but the 6.3V windings are fine as is the 5V. The filament windings usually will handle some 8A while the rectifier winding is probably good for 4A. Lots of possible combinations there!

My other source is transformers which guys used to make homebrew 13.8V power supplies back when. Today nobody builds anything, and when I clean out an estate I find these old power supplies, most not working as the circuitry was beyond the owners. The transformers in these beasties handle 20A or more at 18V, sometimes center tapped, sometimes not. I probably have a dozen of these two types of transformer ready to go to the recycler because nobody wants them and there are only so many line buckers I can build and give away to boatanchor people.
