Another source of a suitable transformer is a junk Variac or Powerstat.

Strip off all the mechanical bits, including the wiper and related stuff
Insulate the track with tape or varnish (glyptal)
Wind a few turns of #12 or #10 THHN house wire.
Then hook it up as I diagrammed before.

The size is easy to calculate.

Load Amps Drawn x Voltage Drop = Watts required

Pick a Variac a bit bigger. (you can even use a near useless 240 V Variac
if you have one around.

The new winding needs to be big enough for t6he4 full load current. Adjust
number of turns to taste.
