Don't be too hasty to judge "parting out."   By doing so, many people are  happy because they get to fix many goodies, rather than just one.  I bless the guy that parts-out TR-7 stuff, or mine would never get fixed.

This sort of thing seems to be happening with a lot of items on eBay.  I 
have a couple of pre-WW1 German Lugers.  From what I have seen the last 
few weeks, I could get more for them by stripping them and selling the 
parts than I could get in a sale of the complete gun.  There is a barrel 
and extension on eBay right now with the bid up to $1200.  A toggle and 
breach block went for about $400.
