To Duane and All,
I'd like to say simply that *I* was not aware that this series of lists
became a "Business" when it changed hands.
That certainly was NOT made clear when it took place.
As to making anything by being a list member, I have not! I sold ONE
radio a few years ago, and got so much grief over it, that it became
painfully clear that I would NEVER do so again!
A radio from the '70s, that WAS represented as having worked when placed
on the shelf some 10+ years earlier, was suddenly expected to be in
perfect running condition upon arrival.
It was also reported to me that damage was done during shipment. I
asked for pictures, and wanted to place a claim with the shipper.
I received no cooperation.
In short, this is also why I received GREAT grief on another list, when
I took the action to take some number of "vintage" radios to the
Hazardous Waste Disposal Site, as they contain lead.
However, I had first offered to part them out. That TOO brought on a
tirade of grief both on and off-list.
I started into this hobby between duty assignments while still in uniform.
I'm getting closer to chucking it all than I ever have before!
Sincerely,
N0DGN
