I sure miss the high/low beam switch down on the floor. The modern
steering column "stalk" controls are a nuisance--I often hit the high
beam by accident with them.
I remember when we got our first car with a solid state radio in it.
When it was new, dad showed everyone who rode in the car how it came
on immediately. I think that was our 1963 Ford Country Squire station
wagon with a 390 thunderbird engine and dual exhausts.

The school had us work on customer's stuff and only charged for parts. I worked on a car radio with that feature and it uses the AVC voltage to "seek" the next station up the band. Slick!
