My Mom's '53 Caddy convertable had that button on the floor next to the Hi/Lo beam button. I thought that was sooo cool! Learned all about how it worked in tech school. The school had us work on customer's stuff and only charged for parts. I worked on a car radio with that feature and it uses the AVC voltage to "seek" the next station up the band. Slick!

ad's 1950 Olds 98 4-door sedan had a "Signal Seeker" radio.
reat sound (for the day) but the seek function never worked
fter I added a Morrow 5BR-1 converter to it. Took the test
or my driver license in that car in the middle of winter
4/55 on glare ice with no snow tires!

suspect the Caddies of the day also had the seek function
n their radios.

I can't remember what was in the 1950 Buick Roadmaster we had.

However, it DID have the pushbuttons that you could set to a station,
and the antenna was on the roof right over the windshield. You could
turn it with a knob to get better reception.

Come to think of it, it was the same in the 1952 Buick Roadmaster.
