Would that be oxygen free paper?
There used to be some stuff you would paint on top of an audio IC to improve sonic purity. Maybe that would work better than simple 'dope'. It might shrink the silk in a manner as to preserve high frequency transparency, with tight bass as a positive side effect ;)
