Cool stuff, nice to see it in an actual museum setting. I especially
like the chromed plumber's delight approach to a mic boom. (o:

I've got a couple of those receivers too, a tiny one from Morrow that
came out of some small town municipal office in VT and the larger Kaar
CONALERT II from out west, which includes the Cheyenne Mountain NORAD
station as one of the 4 channels. Have seen a couple of the Motorola
units, but they tend to be quite spendy. I do have one of their early
rack-mounted round-speaker receivers used by Civil Defense HQ back
home for receiving NOAA broadcasts. Still works fine, though the EBS
alarm circuit is obsolete.
