Its only acceptable to restuff old capacitors if you go the full route in your restoration, You must use the old 8 lb soldering iron, vintage test equipmentm, and an outhouse during restoration.
Seriously, I admire someone someone who goes to that effort. We all do to some degree unless all we do is replace faulty components and leave the rigs with all dust etc intact,

You don't need to do that.
New tires from molds replicating old tire patterns are available .
