Why does there have to be a reason?

It's part of ham radio tradition, just like Q signals and "73" and "XYL"
and "lid". I realize that's meaningless to a large portion of today's
hams... the ones who think "ham" is some kind of an acronym and so they
spell it "HAM", the ones who tell me what their "personal" is, the ones
who say "seventy-thirds" at the end of a QSO and tell me how many "Q's"
they got during the last contest. But the tradition still means something
to some of us.

I just looked at the Subject: line again and I see how off-topic this has
become, so I'll make this my last on this topic.
