One of the first rules I learned about audio years ago was the
relationship of speakers that drove efficiently and amps capable of
driving them. The more powerful amp wasn't necessarily an advantage
overall, but quite often drove a given set of speakers more
efficiently at lower audio levels, resulting in cleaner sounding
'softer' audio. A lot of amps and receivers really fell down at lower
settings.

Sounds like your 6L6 amp will provide the same for your computer.
