[Boatanchors] Should dummy load oil ever need to be changed?

Not really.  Just long enough for a pretty high attenuation.

I put a resistor across the far end between 47-ohms and 56-ohms for "peace of mind".  However, such a resistor is really not needed.

Does the length need to be something specific based on the frequency you're' using?
