I had bought an estate once and there were a couple of VHF SS amps.  I offered them at $50 each, and advertised that they were from an estate, not tested.  (But they looked like new)

Finally one guy said he would offer $50 for both and take them as is.  So I said OK.

Then before leaving he wanted my name and phone number.  when I asked why, he said so he could contact me if they didn't work.

I reminded him they were bought as is.  then his wife said " that's right, you said 'as is.'"

He slunk away with his amps.
