Well ... I cant say I'm surprised. Ever since deregulation back in the late 60s and the multiple guess testing program were implemented, it is easier to complain than to do what hams used to do all the time .... get your fingers inside and fix the thing.When I got my first license, on the test we actually had to DRAW schematics like power supplies and know what part did what on a schematic and in a rig. I know ... home repair of rigs is still done now days ... but not as much as it used to be. Now it seems like a lot of "hams" want plug n play like theircomputers have or like you get with a CB. Heaven forbid something should go skeewumpus and you have to fix it yourself.... I conceed that many of the new tech rigs do have to be worked on by the factory ... but an FT101 with transmit problems..!!!!! Come on ...
