Curt,
I guess you have figured out that you must be careful not to stress it too much when the part is no longer available or
very difficult to remove from the circuit. I am speaking from experience my good man.
What has worked several times for me with mostly Heathkit coils is to spray some 100% silicone in there and let it set
for about a half hour. It works as a great penetrant and if the attempted repair fails you have lubricated it well to
prevent any further sticking.

| I bought?an Eico 722 VFO awhile ago.? Output seemed low, so was going to adjust the output coils.? The slugs seem
stuck.? Is there a reliable way of unsticking these without damaging the coil?? The coils are a 26uH and 7uH.? Are
replacements available from any source?
