[Boatanchors] Solder and RoHS

I just noticed in the Kester spec sheet that it said the solder I have is
RoHS complaint yet it has lead in it.  Hmmmm

 

Not that I really care about being RoHS compliant on Boatanchors,  I just
thought that this was interesting.

Is that some sort of bureaucratic loophole?

 

"RoHS Compliance

This product meets the requirements of the RoHS

(Restriction of Hazardous Substances) Directive,

2002/95/EC Article 4 for the stated banned

substances. (Applies only if this core flux is

combined with a lead free alloy)"

 

The top of the spec sheet says "RoHS Ready"  Strange!
