[Boatanchors] Bird Electronics?????

RE: Repairing the elements or “slugs” as they are commonly called... Some chap wrote a pretty thorough article on repairing and recalibrating them. As I remember, it was something I stumbled across whilst searching thru Googles immense “search” database! You might try searching “repair of Bird elements or slugs” or somesuch. If I manage to retrieve something I’ll let everyone know.

Sorry my memory is getting bad. I used to have Gigabyte space but nowadays it has been reduced to kilobyte space from “Murphy’s” induced old age syndrome!

While we are on this thread, does anyone know of any company that will repair Bird Elements?

  Group,

    Bird is still very much in business. I drove past their building in Solon, Oh this past week as I suffered a cold on a "vacation."

    Now the matter of if they will do business with the small guy is anybody's guess. However, Coaxial Dynamics, also out of Cleveland, will talk with a ham - and all their elements fit a good old Bird 43.

  They did exhibit at the Dayton hamfest in recent years.

    Sandy;

    I don't know about the status of the Bird Corporation. I can tell you that I
    contacted them twice in the last couple of years and received no response
    either time. Seems that at least they don't care about the "Small Fish". If
    anyone learns the status, please let the rest of us know.

    Harold
