Hi All,
Please excuse the OT topic, but I'm trying every avenue to try to find a
decent cabinet for this "semi-vintage" Zenith Transoceanic receiver
(late '60s). (Hopefully this won't turn into a long drawn out thread :)
My long time "Daily Driver" Zenith Royal 7000 receiver (chassis
18ZT40Z3) is missing both front doors and has a cracked window over the
tuning dial. I've fully restored the set electrically and it is my
"pride and joy", so I'd like to make the set as 'cherry' as possible (I
even have the plastic tubes for the battery box).
I have a VERY nice Realistic DX-380 (same as Sangean ATS-808)
digital set that has lived most of it's life in it's leatherette
'wallet'. So it's nearly like new. Plays well, in some respects it
plays better than the Royal 7000 (but doesn't have the tone quality of
the TO).
I DON'T have the manual, but can send you a text file of the one
Radio Shack has on-line. You may see the specifications here (scroll
down to ATS-808). . .

I'll SWAP the radio straight across for a "PARTS RIG" Royal 7000
(chassis 18Zt40Z3) that has nice front doors and an unbroken/unscratched
clear window for the tuning drum. This is the earlier "Royal" 7000 with
the four knobs in a vertical row, BFO, Selectivity switch, etc.
It's NOT the Taiwan printed circuit version with four knobs in a square
pattern. The electronics of the parts set can be in-op, and I DON'T
even need the rear battery cover as mine is fairly nice (though a
correct power cord would be nice).
Each party ships their own radio. . .
