Check the wiring diagram.  If the transformer winding that connects to 
these leads does not connect to anything else, then you are correct, it 
does not matter which way it is connected.  But, if there are any other 
taps on that winding, then it does matter. In that case, correct the 
wiring error before proceeding.  Some scope circuits use the trick of 
"piggybacking" a high voltage winding onto one end of a lower voltage 
winding to gain even more AC to work with.  If this is the case with the 
SB-610, the wiring error could lower the available HV by a significant 
amount.


If I remember correctly, the caps are 0.1 uFd.
