Hi Joe,
Years ago I had a similar problem with APC trimmers in a Navy receiver,
an RMB or RBS, as I recall. I was able to make a tool by grinding away
at a small C-clamp that allowed me to press the rotors back into
position, and apply solder to fix the hex adjuster nut to the shaft.
Wish I could provide a drawing, but it was along time ago. Use your
imagination. My recollection is, that on the Navy radio, I was able to
repair the APC's /in situ/.
