Barrie, that sounds like the old SCR 522 transmitter. I believe that was and early 2m a.m. transmitter.

As long as we're talking about old military gear, I have a question.

During most of the 1950s, I had a military set that had been modified (I think) for 6M.  It was crystal controlled and CW only.

I worked quite a number of stations with it.  Of course, during most of that time period the solar flux was way up there.

While I don't remember much about the rig, I do remember it had an 832A tripling into an 832A.  Someone told me that it was 8 watts out.

I'm wondering if anyone knows what that rig might have been?
