The NCX-5 carried on the HRO-60 tradition of a very hot receiver. With 2 RF
stages and 3 IF's coupled with a very effective AGC it was unique in the
transceiver world. I operated 10-20M mobile with one and was amazed in how
well it heard and at other times I used it for multiplier spotting in
contests. I was SO2R decades before it became a category.
