[Boatanchors] Ham Radio Estate Sales and Hamfest finds

Well, you picked a good one to come to, Bob. It will be our tenth
event, so we're going to do it up right. Plan to get there as early as
possible Friday of you're looking for the deals, although they do
still filter in throughout the day. Saturday morning is another busy
time for shoppers as the next batch of sellers arrive.

And if you can possibly swing it, we have a great AM Dinner on Friday
night about 10 minutes from the fair grounds. A perfect way to end a
long day of hamfest funzies.

Scooters are at a distinct disadvantage at NEAR-Fest, not for lack of
smooth, paved paths but due to the number of fast-moving BA types on
the prowl. NEAR-Fest rivals Dayton for boatanchor density per square
foot. And the people seeking them them are just as plentiful. We also
run a much lower radio-to-junk ratio which makes for a much more
enjoyable event overall (and less mess to deal with afterward).
